The imposition solver, in the open
Sift computes the most efficient layout for a job — step-and-repeat, gang, or true-shape nest — and hands the plan to compile-pdf to write the PDF. Open source, with a hosted platform for teams who'd rather not run it themselves.
Print With Synergy
Sift is built by Print With Synergy, a studio focused on prepress automation and developer tooling for the print and packaging industry. The stack grew out of real plant workflows: extract the facts once, preflight against the standards, plan imposition optimally, produce deterministically, and review with prepress-grade tooling.
Every engine — codex-pdf, lint-pdf, compile-pdf, lens-pdf, assay-pdf, and the synergy orchestrator — is open source under AGPL-3.0. You can run the whole thing on your own infrastructure, adopt a single engine, or use the hosted Print With Synergy SaaS and skip the ops entirely.
The hosted platform adds multi-tenant auth, Stripe billing with usage-based overage, quotas, and a visual workflow builder — the commercial control plane around the same open engines.
Two ways to run it
Self-host the open source, or start free on the hosted platform.
